“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5)
Your life is not an accident. Long before anyone chose your name, God had already written your assignment. Jeremiah did not invent his calling; he discovered what God had determined before he was born. In the same way, every son of God carries a divine purpose that becomes clear as we walk closely with the Father.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)
A calling is more than a title or a platform. It is the unique way God has designed you to reveal His nature in your family, your work, your church, and your nation. Maturity begins when a believer stops living for self and starts walking in what God ordained.
- Know Who Called You
Your confidence does not rest on your ability but on the One who called you. God does not call the qualified; He qualifies those He calls.
“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,” (2 Timothy 1:9)
- Seek His Counsel Above Your Plans
Many plans compete for your attention, but only the purpose of God will stand. Bring your ambitions to Him in prayer and let His Word shape your direction.
“There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.” (Proverbs 19:21)
- Be Faithful Where You Are
Before David ruled Israel, he was faithful with a few sheep. The place of preparation is never wasted. Serve with excellence today, and God will enlarge you tomorrow.
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” (Colossians 3:23)
- Keep Pressing Forward
A calling is walked out daily. There will be seasons of waiting and seasons of warfare, but the one who presses on will finish well.
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14)
